Film Screening: When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit (July 24th 2024)
/The Auckland Goethe Society hosted a film screening of the 2019 award winning German drama film, When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit (Als Hitler das rosa Kaninchen stahl), directed by Caroline Link. The film was kindly supplied by the Goethe Institut.
The film is based on the international best-selling children's book and semi-autobiographical novel by Judith Kerr. A Jewish family flees Berlin on the evening of the election in 1933. They initially settle in Zürich before moving to Paris, and finally, to London.
