On 29 May, New Zealand German scholar Alan Kirkness gave a fascinating talk on the origins of the most comprehensive German dictionary in existence. He shared details about the lives of the Grimm brothers, two very interesting characters, who started the dictionary in 1838. Alan also talked about the lost editions of Grimm's German dictionary that were found in Poland only a few years ago. A great evening! Thank you Alan!
